Phoenix Homes that are Stretching the City Limits
New construction of Phoenix homes is moving to the outskirts, and Aread, a real estate acquisition and development company is leading the way.
Just five years ago no one thought there was a chance areas as far from metro Phoenix as West Valley and Pinal County would ever be of any interest to Phoenix home builders, but now Aread is planning 900 acres of home sites reaching all the way to 371st Ave. and has a 1,000 acre project neat Eloy.
A dozen or so developers and investors are turning away from metro Phoenix homes and purchasing farmland and registering for residential-zoning approvals.
Phoenix is almost completely built out, and Nariman Afkhami, president of Aread, is predicting that "growth will go a long way toward creating the unbroken string of development for 100 miles that has long been forecast linking metro Phoenix with Tucson."
