And So Begins the Second Phase of Phoenix Lofts
In the late 1990s, developer Eric Brown introduced “loft-style housing” to central Phoenix. In 2006, he’s planning on beginning his second phase of Phoenix lofts, which will be “just north of the fist phase” and across from the Burton Barr Library.
The second phase will be four to six stories and include 60 to 80 Phoenix lofts, with parking on the ground floor. “Another level of underground parking is under discussion.” Brown believes the Phoenix lofts will range from 950 to 1,400 square feet.
The development of these Phoenix lofts proves that there is still a huge demand for “downtown living,” and one of the loft-style’s biggest assets is that it is an “upscale product…built on small lots.” If the land cost is kept at a minimum, the units can be priced more affordably. Although, prices have not yet been decided, Brown claims his goal for the Phoenix lofts is to keep prices “reasonable.”
