Residents Say No Way to Luxury Phoenix Condo Complex
After the success of its Scottsdale building, Optima, a luxury condo developer, wants to build a double tower Phoenix condo complex at 2222 E. Camelback Road.
This Phoenix condo complex, called the Optima Biltmore Towers, "would contain more than 130 two- and three-bedroom condos," with a selling price of $1 million to $3.5 million.
Optima bought the old M&I Bank site and wants to build the two 140-foot towers in an area where there is a 56-foot cap, and despite the Camelback East Village Planning Committee´s decision to uphold the height cap, "Phoenix´s planning staff is suggesting the limit be raised to 140 feet."
Residents have mobilized against all of the new Phoenix condo complex proposals, claiming that "Camelback could turn into a canyon of towers looming over their neighborhoods."
